Nintendo 3DS Demo Pods Touring North America
Nintendo is giving the public a chance to demo the Nintendo 3DS at select cities across the country starting in March.
It’s hard to judge something without seeing it in person (no duh.) This is especially true for a gaming device that is partly focused around a visual 3D effect, such as the Nintendo 3DS. Till now only journalists, industry members, and a chosen few have gotten their hands on the next portable handheld from Nintendo, but that’s about to change through a four-city road trip.
Starting March 11 through April 4, Nintendo will be touring North America, giving anyone who visits their “Nintendo 3DS Demo Pods” a on-hands demonstration of the Nintendo 3DS and it’s unique glasses-free 3D powers. Visitors will also be able to try some upcoming games for the Nintendo 3DS: Pilotwings Resort, Steel Diver, Nintendogs + cats, and Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition just to name a few.
Here is the full list of dates and times for the four cities where you can find a Nintendo 3DS Demo Pod near you:
- New York City: Grand Central Terminal (Vanderbilt Hall, West Side)
- Running March 11-30
- Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
- Chicago: Citigroup Center (entrance to Ogilvie Transportation Center)
- Running March 11-April 3
- Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
- San Francisco: Pier 39 (Main Entrance Plaza)
- Running March 11-April 3
- Monday through Sunday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Los Angeles: Third Street Promenade (1300 block)
- Running March 11-April 3
- Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
- Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
- Sunday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
Just a friendly reminder, the Nintendo 3DS hits North American shelves March 27, so if you’re adjacent to one of these spaceship looking pods, and are a little iffy about spending $250 hard-earned bucks on a new gaming handheld – then come on down. Oh, and bring a game to play just in case there are lines (Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is a nice choice) and don’t forget to check out the full line-up of Nintendo 3DS launch games while you are at it too.
