Kanto Starters To Appear In Pokemon X & Y And Mega-Evolve

Oh my god, they’re back. Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle are gonna be available in Pokemon X & Y from pretty early in the game, but that’s not all: the Kanto starters will be able to mega-evolve.

Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie won’t be the only options available for gamers who pick Pokemon X & Y this 12th of October, as they’ll be joined by the Gen I kanto starters, Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle shortly after the game begins. But that’s not all, as Pokemon X & Y introduces a completely new mechanic where select Pokemon get to access a fourth evolution stage, only accessible in battle, called a “Mega Evolution”, and all three of the Kanto starters are able to get into this “super” state.
